A Better Ending 01: Deeper

You have probably wondered something like, “Where was God when…(something painful happened)?” What if when we feel wounded and alone, we are closer to being less alone than we ever thought possible.

Genesis 37:18-20 They saw (Joseph) coming, and before he came near to them they conspired against him to kill him.  They said to one another…”Come now, let us kill him and throw him into one of the pits.  Then we will say that a fierce animal has devoured him…”

Genesis 37:24  And they took him and threw him into a pit.  The pit was empty, and there was no water in it.

1 Kings 19:3 he was afraid…

1 Kings 19:4 And he asked that he might die, saying, “It is enough: now O LORD, take away my life, for I am no better than my fathers.”

1 Kings 19:10 I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.

Isaiah 53:3-5 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.  Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.  But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.
